Who is Lee, and what makes you the person you are today?
Well Rhashaad Lee is a normal guy with god given talent and loves being positive while doing it. What makes me the person that i am today is being positive and i love bringing happiness. Not just to myself but to everyone as well. I just love putting smiles on people faces, and also make people feel welcome and special. Even I sometimes have stressful days, I always end them with a smile on my face.
What are your hobbies, and what do you like to do for fun outside of meetme?
What kind of art do you draw?
My hobbies are drawing and music. I love to draw portraits as in people. It takes years and years of practice and i keep getting better and better everytime. I do the exact same thing with my music. It takes me forever just to write a song, Even a verse. But I always think long and hard to what I'm going to say and make sure it makes sense. And everytime i write songs, it feels like im writing a story.
How long have you been streaming for?
Ive been streaming for a year and 6 months. I never knew that i was going to be a streamer, I was doing
for fun and it took me forever to build my numbers up. And thanks to the support from my viewers I continue to keep going. Even though I almost quit streaming for a few times because of the hate drama and jealousy and especially negativity. But i keep going and i never gave up on it.
What are your goals in life?
My biggest goal in life is to become a successful actor and a successful musician. The reason why is because ive always dream to show my hard working talent to the world. After I graduated high school i started going to classes for acting and i started writing music. Ive been acting in plays and musical theater for 5 and a half years and ive been writing songs the exact same time. I really enjoy what I do and im planning on making a career out of both of them.

Who is Katy B and what makes you the person you are today?
Who am I? Wow, what an existential first question. Where to start? Well, I’m just a girl from Philly trying to promote positivity, spread smiles, and have a lot of fun doing it. At least that’s what my MeetMe bio says, and I think it’s pretty accurate in every aspect of my life.
As to what got me to this point? That’s a complicated saga. But let’s touch on some major plot points. I grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia with parents who quietly let me test the waters of my many passions; dance, sports, music, etc.(that’s a large etc.) I came off shy, but in my room I was always performing concerts and starring in movies.
Flash forward to graduating college (No longer shy. Well, I was never really shy. The performer in me was just a secret) and fulfilling a lifelong dream, becoming a Sixers Dancer! This is important, because it kept me out of a cubicle, and accidently got me into promotions, local modeling and acting. I also became a writer of popular blog called PhillyIn.com for a period of time. All the while, I moved into the city, did a lot of world traveling, appeared on countless live TV and radio shows, acted in many commercials and indie movie (got to be an extra in some major films), hosted television shows and live events, met some amazing people (also met some famous people), and set out on a quest of joyfulness.
Skip ahead some more and I ended up working for a liquor company for many years before finally stumbling upon the wonderful world of live streaming. Now I get paid to perform these “concerts”, show off my acting skills and practice my Improv in my room. 8 year old me would be so proud!
When did you start streaming? What platforms do you stream on, and are you a top badge on both?
A friend who knew my history of performing recommended live streaming to me. In late September 2018, after much reluctance, I finally gave it a try. Turns out, it was pretty great. Finally, a use for my games, costumes and props I have cluttering my house! (Take that Marie Kondo!)
After trying out the app, I was linked up with Stella from the Meet Group Talent Team who suggested I start on Tagged. 6 months later, she said “Hey Katy B. why don’t you give Meet Me a whirl?” and now I’m currently a top badge on both apps.
What attracts people to your streams?
If you asked this question to the viewers in my stream, you would likely get a joke as an answer, (I believe last time I asked someone to explain, they said “Vengeance!”) which is a great example of what we do best, spread love and positivity without taking ourselves too seriously. Think of the feeling you get when you watch someone like Ellen. There’s dancing, games and general silliness. You leave with a smile, feeling good and not like you’ve been lectured. While I don’t have any celebrity guests (although I often drag friends and family on to co-host) I try and channel that energy of fun, while focusing on kindness and what connects us all.
The topics and activities are vast. I have a large array of passions and find ways to include whatever I can. We play games, workout, bake, dance, take field trips, do makeup, and talk about sports. Sometimes, I practice my terrible Spanish or attempt to play an instrument I used to be good at. Sometimes I do my laundry, or wash dishes (Streamers! They’re just like us, lol). I’m also deep into fantasy and superhero nerdom and we can talk about that for hours. Did I mention there’s often lots of costumes and props?
All that being said, I’m not afraid to share if I’m going through a hard time. I’m very open to talking about my own struggles and lessons with depression and anxiety. I find more and more people are dealing with that these days and there’s nothing your audience appreciates as much as authenticity. No person is happy all the time, life is not perfect all the time, but in the SmileVerse, we try to make the best of what we got.
You play a Family Feud game on both platforms at the same time, is it hard to do? What made you decide to do that?
I had seen people attempt to dual stream and always disliked it. The idea seems good enough, double the streams, double the viewers, and double the gifts. Right? But, as a viewer, it always left a lot to be desired. Instead of adding to the experience, it often felt like you’re being ignored. In addition, there’s always something that you don’t see or understand, that can be annoying and make you feel disconnected with the streamer.
So, I kind of made it a personal challenge to find out if there was a way to do it successfully. I often found it frustrating that there was no way for me to put viewers into teams for games. One day it just hit me, the perfect way to separate teams was to make each stream a team. That way there’s no confusion, people can continue to come in and out of the stream without having to be “put” on a team and the numbers don’t need to be perfectly equal. Also, the chat can openly talk about potential answers without the other team being able to see.
Dual streaming successfully is very difficult. Technically speaking, the setup itself is hard to get right. I try and keep the cameras as close together so no one feels like they are the “B” team. I also try and follow both chats, but the beauty of a game is that the focus naturally goes back and forth between the teams. Plus, utilizing “captains” puts them in charge of reading the comments. It hasn’t been perfect, but it gets better every time and it seems like everyone is really enjoying something new. I’m currently doing it once a month. We may eventually switch up the game too, but right now I’ve just been working on perfecting the Feud.
What do you like to do for fun outside the app, what are your hobbies?
Over the last year, I learned the surprising fact that a lot of streamers are actually introverts. I am NOT, lol. I am a social butterfly extraordinaire and on-the-go so often that sometimes it makes it hard to squeeze streaming into my schedule (I do a lot of “Get Ready With Me” streams when time gets sparse) I love to go out and meet new people, I’m not afraid to strike up a conversation with anyone who I think might be interesting to talk to, and thrive in spending quality time with my friends. I still love to dance (whether at a club or in my kitchen). And, I will jump on a plane any time the opportunity presents (I’m famous for changing my flights at the last minute for more adventures).
This being said, you’re as likely to catch me in sweatpants as you are to catch me running out the front door strapping on my heels. I like to work out, play games, read, bake delicious things and dive into the latest Netflix series. I’m an avid Philadelphia sports fan (Go Sixers!). And I spend a lot of time in my general “Pursuit of Happiness” which has included a long road of yoga, meditation, a year without a cell phone, self-improvement books, workshops, a sensory deprivation tank, retreats, 12 days of complete silence, and more.
What are some future goals in life that you might have?
All my other answers are so long, I’ll try and keep this one short. Become a “Top” Top Streamer. Grow my business and brand. Go to Paris. Learn Spanish (for real). Write a book. Go on tour. Fall in love. Act in a feature film (not as an extra). Record one song I wrote (probably with auto-tone). Make other people happy. Spoil my friends and family. Feel content. Oh, and one last one, read Game of Thrones, but only after George R.R Martin finishes them. I know, I know……these goals are supposed to be realistic, but a girl can dream.
Was obtaining a Top Badge hard? Not just on one, but two platforms? How was that experience for you?
I got my Top Badge on Tagged about two and a half months after I started. To celebrate, I took the stream to the Philadelphia Art Museum and we ran the Rocky Steps together (many times, lol).
I remember when I started on MeetMe, thinking I had learned so much, that it should be much easier. It wasn’t. There are a few major differences between the two apps that generally speaking, make it harder to go from Tagged to MeetMe vs MeetMe to Tagged. The gifts are more expensive and the competition is stiffer. Secondly, I was trying to keep my top on Tagged, so unlike when I was solely streaming on one app, I was now splitting my time. Lastly, in order to grow, you can’t just do your own stream and call it a day. You have to be part of the community. So now, you’re spending money for gifts on two apps, and your time trying to be active in a second world. It took me at least double the time (if not more) to get my top badge on MeetMe. When I finally earned my Top Badge, they told me in person in the midst of the Vidcon MeetMe Purple Carpet Party. Because of that, there was a DJ, dancing, a firework show, and I was surrounded by MeetMe and Tagged friends. That was pretty epic.
Have you met anyone off the app? If so how was that experience?
When I walked into Playlist last year, I was super nervous, I hadn’t met anyone. Also, there were more Meetme Streamers than Tagged, and I wasn’t a Top Badge on MeetMe yet, so many people didn’t even know who I was.
But, now I’ve met sooooo many people off the apps, I can’t imagine still being on my streaming island all alone. In addition to Playlist, I also attended Vidcon and the MeetMe HQ event, which were all amazing, and safe opportunities to meet a ton of people. I was mostly surprised by how much everyone was exactly what I expected. I think viewers get the impression that people are putting on a persona on their stream, and while they might be true to a small extent, being live for long periods of time does not give much room for being inauthentic. So chances are, your favorite top is pretty close to what you would expect with only a few exceptions. I’m also humbled anytime I meet someone who is a SmileVerse member or knows who I am. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience. They are many people I’ve met that I consider close friends now.
Do you have any tips for new streamers who might be struggling?
Lots! First off some basics: use a good clear profile photo. Stop changing your name! People do this all the time and it’s impossible to keep track off as a fan. Pick something that is easy to remember and don’t clutter your name up with too many crazy fonts or emojis if you want to be easily recognizable. Third, take it seriously. Just because you may have caught a streamer chatting from their bed, does not mean that is there normal setup. Act like it’s your own youtube channel and make a little set, doesn’t have to be professional, just have some good lighting, and no clutter in the background, you can even include things you love in your set as an icebreaker.
For someone who is doing all the easy things right and still struggling here are a few more. This one is my favorite. “Your viewers are not in charge of your content!” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve entered into a struggling streamers room to see them on their phone, out of frame, or just waiting for someone else to say something. You can’t expect people to add to a conversation that isn’t happening. So, pretend this is your own little podcast, pick 3-4 topics and Just. Start. Talking! Lastly, network. No one will find you if you don’t get out there. So get active in the community, get chatty in other people’s streams, participate, gift other streamers, this will get your likes up and get your name out. Keep in mind, its bad etiquette to go into someone else’s stream and beg people to fav you, or come watch you. So, just be active, likeable, gift and the people will find you.
I often say, “You’re vibe attracts your tribe.” In no other social media platform do I think that is truer than on live streaming. You cannot creatively edit it like Youtube, or perfectly curate it like Instagram. It’s you, in a roomful of people with varying intentions, unedited and unfiltered. So, I encourage new steamers to be as authentic as you can. Don’t try and copy someone else’s style, or change yourself because of a one random troll. Just be as loudly “YOU” as you can be.
I’m going to be filming some youtube videos including these and other Live Streaming topics so feel free to subscribe @katybeaver and look out for those videos coming soon, or send me questions on Instagram with the same username.
Is there anything else you would like to mention that I might have not mentioned ?
Thank you Katy for taking the time to fill out these questions, I hope that they help you with your viewers getting to know you a little bit better.
Oh yes, I have some new merch! If anyone goes to @katybeaver on instagram and clicks the bio on my profile they can Sip some Loverade out of a mug, or wear Loverade on their heart with teeshirts, hoodies and graphic tees.
My tagline is: “In the SmileVerse, we serve up smiles, share silliness, and sip on that Loverade.” I think it sets up expectations pretty quickly. I want to encourage everyone to be kind; you never know what someone else is going through. Put down the haterade, take a sip of Loverade, it just tastes better.

Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions, I hope they are useful for you to get new viewers and that your viewers get to know you better!
Who are you, and what makes you the person you are today?
I’m Austin founder of Grandis Media. I had a poor upbringing and struggled with depression in my youth. I’m a youtuber that creates content on entrepreneurship and self empowerment.
How long have you been streaming for, and why did you start streaming, what was your purpose?
I originally started live streaming on Facebook live when I was 15. I’m 22. I started live streaming because I wanted to help inspire people with depression and hard upbringings to achieve greatness. I’ve streamed on just about every popular platform. MeetMe, LiveMe, YouNow, etc.
How did you come up with your name, what is the story behind it?
Grandis Media is the second business I own under the embrella Grandis. Grandis is Latin for greatness and greatest . I aim to help everyone achieve a status of Greatness.
What are you themes of your streams, how do you attract people to it?
I don’t necessarily have a theme, I don’t believe in living a internet facade. That’s why I’m always like hey I’m Austin! I’m just my self. But my content is generally all about adding value to the life of the viewer. Teaching people how to be their lives from being better streamers, start their owner businesses to building confidence and loving them selves.
You have your own company, can you explain to us what it is about and where we can find you?
I own two businesses. Grandis Media, which is my content creation company. I think I’ve already answered what kind of content I make. I also own a electronics company where I buy sell and trade electronics through Facebook marketplace. I actually have YouTube videos on my channel showing others how to do it to. I will not disclose the name of my psychical business though due to privacy and safety concerns.
What are some of your goals in life?
My biggest goals are to build a billion dollar franchise before I die. I want to gain a massive amount of wealth so I can use so said wealth to make positive changes in the world. I’ve always wanted to change the world and make it a better place. My main focuses in this regard are the homeless. I really want to start a homeless re ability center that focuses on getting homeless people back on their feet by providing housing, jobs, and clothes for work. I also want to help provide opportunities to the children of low income families so they don’t have to have the lousy life I did.
What are your hobbies?
I don’t have time for hobbies. My life purpose is too important. I’ve always believed in turning ones passions into their career. I work roughly 80 hours a week between my two start ups and don’t have much time for anything outside of work. I guess you could say I really enjoy my work and get high off of success and ambition like some people get high off drugs. I wouldn’t really say I’m ambitious though, nor would I recommend anyone be. Ambition is something you feel when you’re feeling good and happy. Motivation is a fleeting thing isn’t it? I believe in being driven. What that means to me is pushing on and working hard even when you have to eat shit and you don’t enjoy it.
Do you have any tips that you might give to new streamers, who might be trying to aim towards getting their top badge or struggling with their goals?
My biggest word of advice to anyone streaming on any app would be to never limit your self or create a false facade of being loyal to any streaming app. Always put your self and your content first. Don’t limit your audience by viewing social media so narrowly. Create content on as many platforms as possible and do everything you can to elevate your brand and get your name out there. If your only focus as a social media influencer is only one streaming app you’re going to fail. You need to create content in as many ways as possible. Start out with a instagram you push all your viewers to follow you on.
Also always ask yourself what value your content brings your viewers. Remember whoever brings the most value wins. Stop trying to make money and start trying to add value and you’ll make more money than ever before. The faster you come to understand this the faster your life will change. I don’t have much to say about ones top badge. It just doesn’t seem like a very important goal to me. Just a status symbol someone who created a app created. I have very limited interest on status symbols.

Hello Night Jewel, tell us about yourself, what attributes make you the person who you are?
Hi Everyone! I'm a streamer on MeetMe. I have a career in the mental health world as a Licensed Social worker and Mental Health Therapist. I grew up with a lot of negativity in my life related to drugs and alcohol and my parent's addiction. This ultimately pushed me into the Social work career because I wanted to be a support system for kids like me, who are going through this epidemic of heroin addiction. It's a serious problem for society today and I wanted to honor my life experience by using it to help others. I'm a mom and I love it. I'm an Aries so I can be stubborn but I hate conflict so I usually let others have their way unless it's something I feel strongly about. I am also really big on encouraging self esteem to everyone because I think if everyone could just have good self esteem the world would be a much better place to live.
When did you start streaming on Meet Me, and who or what introduced you to streaming?
I started streaming on MeetMe on September 1st 2019. I joined the app out of curiosity after getting tons of spam emails and discovered the live section,
which I immediately got hooked on.
Have you tried any other streaming apps besides Meet Me?
Yes, I run a business on Facebook where I live stream and sell jewelry.
What are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun outside of Meet Me?
I like to paint and spend time with my son. In the summer I enjoy camping and kayaking too.
Do you like to read any books? Do you have a favorite movie or music you like to listen to?
I love to read! Unfortunately, I have not been making time to do so lately so I guess I better make some changes. As for favorites, I am rarely able to pick a single thing to call my favorite. I like variety and having options so its hard to narrow it down to just one thing. But I love comedy movies and I listen to all types of music, especially 90's. I like a variety of books as well, ranging from Stephen King to J.K Rowling, to Jackie Collins. I like books and television shows when they are in a series because I am the type of person who really struggles when things come to an end. If it's good one is never enough!
What are your goals on Meet Me, why do you use it?
My goal on MeetMe is simple. I want to have fun and bring fun to the people who come to watch my lives. I stream because it's a great way to interact with new people all the time and I have met some truly amazing people who I consider good friends from the app. A lot of times I will have people come to me for advice and I think that is one of the coolest honors because I can use my knowledge and education in the mental health and human behavior field to offer them some insights that others might not be able to give them. For me, streaming has become an escape. I encourage everyone to having coping skills or some way of dealing with hard times in their lives and my broadcasts have been that for me! I recently separated from my husband after a 15 year relationship and the change was difficult to navigate. I felt alone and scared to be adulting on my own for the very first time. MeetMe and the people I've met through the app have been very supportive and I feel like I've gained a family.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now with streaming? What about in real life?
Ten years is a long time into the future to know where I will be. I can't say for sure if I'll be streaming but I know for sure I will be doing something along these lines. I am an entertainer at heart and I love making people laugh because everyone can use happiness and humor in their lives. In real life I hope I'm traveling and seeing the world. I want to experience new things and have awesome adventures.
What has been some negative aspects of streaming for you, and what about the positive ones?
Honestly the only negative aspect I can think of is the people who try to take advantage of you. There are a lot of fake people and fake profiles that are just out to cause chaos. I had to learn that the hard way. I am a pretty emphatic person so when I first started streaming I was having people tell me fake stories all the time to try to get sympathy. I'm the kind of person who likes to help others so I was putting a lot of energy into chatting and talking with people who ultimately made up stories as their way of being funny or trolling.
Do you have any tips for new streamers that are struggling?
Be consistent and don't give up. Pick a regular time and day you will be live and let your followers know when that is so they can expect you. Keep things entertaining. When I stream we play trivia occasionally, we sing and dance, and I like to get people in the box to have conversations about random things. Engage with your audience and ask them questions so they have to respond and so they feel like part of the broadcast! Most people actually love to talk about themselves. Be grateful and acknowledge your supporters when they gift or hold down the hearts. Another good thing is to be a supporter yourself. When you aren't streaming go show love to others. Bring entertainment to your friends and show love with gifts when you can. Lastly and most important, AVOID the drama. Surround yourself with people who are positive and you will be successful.
Is there anything else or final thoughts you would like to share with your viewers?
I just want to say thanks to everyone who comes to my stream, especially to those who are there on the regular. My stream wouldn't be nearly as entertaining if I didn't have great people who follow and support me.

Thank you Deborah Kobylt for taking the time to answer these questions, sorry that it took a while to get to you. I hope that this interview helps viewers to get to know you better, and that it helps you gain new viewers for interviews that you create.
Who is Deborah Kobylt and what kind of people do you like to interview?
Deborah Zara Kobylt is a journalist interested in stories about people who have persevere, who try, keep going. I enjoy telling stories of people that others may have discounted. The underdog. And also those who made it in their chosen profession to find out what obstacles they had along the way and what mental exercises they practiced to keep going. I’m a mom of three boys, a hiker, marathoner, biker, traveler. I’m not perfect, but I try to be kind. I’m tough but deeply sensitive. Someone once called me “complicated.”
Who was your favorite interview, and why?
I don’t have a favorite interview. I have many. Jeanie Buss. Her struggles to manage a team despite intense criticism. What it’s like growing up Buss. John Travolta. Deep down, he’s an Italian boy from NJ and we related. Keri Kasem. For caring so deeply about her dad and fighting for the rights of the elderly. Ordinary moms, people who struggle, female astronauts, scientists, authors.
Who has influenced you, and why?
My influences? Mom and dad. Deeply complicated, different, loving to the end. They always were there for me as support. Always to talk to. And they are Italian and I feel a true bond with my Italian roots from NJ and Italy. I didn’t have many female journalists in my scope growing up. So I had to trust my instincts on where I was going, which led me well lending jobs on CNN, Fox11LA, K-Cal9
What other platforms have you been on besides Television? What kind of journalism do you do?
I started out as a newspaper reporter having worked for many local papers while in college. Then when I was interning at Ch.9 in NYC they suggested I try TV. One of my first jobs was WMGM-TV in Atlantic City. Got to cover Trump, Cher, corrupt politics. It was fascinating.
You were in the movie Wes Craven’s New Nightmare, which was one of my favorite Nightmare On Elm Street movies. What was the experience like working with everyone on the team of the set, would you do it again?
I loved working on Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. Even got my own trailer! Wes Craven was kind, gentle, and I even told him what an anchor would and wouldn’t say and he changed the script somewhat. Haha. What a cool guy. The entire cast and crew were amazing. Do it again? I’m a heartbeat. I should get more film and TV work. Anyone hiring?
Your husband is John Kobylt. What is it like being married to one of the greatest radio personalities heard on KFI Los Angeles AM 640?
John Kobylt? I met him he was a DJ making 11G in Atlantic City spinning records. He got to LA quickly after a tax revolt in Trenton, NJ landed him as the lead story on every network news channel. His instincts led the rest of the way for his career, fighting for the regular guy and gal making a living. Politically we differ, and that is difficult at times for me. Let’s just say he has a harsher edge than I do. But he’s a legend no doubt. NO one does what he does in terms of fighting for people who feel they have no voice.
What kind of education did you have to obtain to start off in the industry (for those who want to start in the direction of news journalism)?
I think a good journalism school can lead someone on the right path. I majored in English literature and art history but worked as an editor on the school paper. So goth start there. Now a days a smart blog, online publications are a great start. And develop your own on YouTube. Talent is talent and be true to your interests always.
Do you have any tips for anyone who is trying to get into the field that you are in?
Tips? Never give up. Work for free is you must and get a side job or two to pay the bills. But never give up. Offer to write an article on spec. Do your own stories on local community events and shoot the on an iPhone. Just keep at it, every day.
Is there anything else you would like to say that I might have missed in this interview?
It’s an honor to be a journalist. I sincerely love being part of a community, big or small, and telling stories of the people, helping sort out issues and safety like if there is a fire. I enjoy that very much. And the people in this business I find are in it for the same reason. Community. News. Information. It’s a wonderful community. Thanks for this opportunity to tell my story. I can be reached via all social media.
