Name: Meet Me - Olav

Unique ID: CFRIHATH

Website URL:

Who is Olav, what makes you the person you are today?

I am a singer and songwriter. I live in a city in norway.

I started music very early on. I started writing songs when i was around 10 years old to express how i felt at that time. I was struggling with mental illness witch made me feel extremely sad and lost. Anxiety, eating disorder and self harm were one of the bigger ones. My family was the ones that supported me the most due to me not having any friends. Specially my aunt. She always said everything with honesty when it came to my voice, and without her i wouldn't be as good as i would be today. I adore her for that. We share alot of the struggles togheter, and that makes us extremely close. I look at her as a sister and my biggest inspiration in life.

You are a musician and a song writer, who influenced you to become the musician you are?

When i grew up, i faced great challanges. The singer and song writer Demi Lovato is the one i aspire to be one day. I wanna stand up for the people that has been through the same shit as me. I wanna be the reason why they decide to put down the knife, or to pick up the fork and eat.

What kind of music do you perform? Have you ever performed in front of a audience?

I perform music that tells a personal story. The battle i fought. And as the story goes on, there will be new stories to tell through my songs. Yes, i have performed infront of an audience. Im still pretty early on in ghe making of my original music, so i havent done it infront of a huge audience. But i am currently getting a bigger audience online during the pandemic and lockdown. So i have performed infront of thousands online.

How long have you been on the app, what kind of experience have you had on it that you would like to mention that is good, and or bad?

I have been on the app meetme. As to mention that scout and meetme is basically the same app since ghey are joined togheter and is called "sister apps". I have been doing my thing on the app for 6 years. But i recently started getting some more fame the past 2 years. The downside is that there is alot of rude and disrespectful people, sending nudes and racist comments. But ( and this is a big BUT) there is alot of good people that i have been lucky enough to call friends. OhhhhhDarling, roxie rose and damdaniel is one of the few giod friends i have made on that app.

What are your hobbies besides streaming?

I wouldn't say music is a hobby, more like my second job. I am also an apprentice at a hair salon. I do youtube as a hobby. I make all kinds if videos, im in the state of finding my niche, and trying to figure out what my audience like.

What are some of your goals in life? What would you like to accomplish?

The first goal i'd like to accomplish is to release and album/EP. i am working in it, and i have 2 amazing featured artists that is going to have a duett with me. Im planning to call the album "the untold chapter.

Im also wanting to be able to meet the people that has inspired me in life. Then working on a tour.

What are some goals in the music industry you would like to accomplish?

All i want, is to be able to inspire people to get help, and make better music. I feel like there is alot of artists out there that supports all this, but they dont desicate their whole careers to it. Im going to do that. Also supporting LGBTQ+ community wich i am a part of. And black lives matter.

If someone wanted to start out in the music industry, what kind of tips would you give them, and why?

Be patient. I have been on the journey already for 10 years from starting of with singing and song writing. Then get my own money to put into music production and vical coaching. So my best tip is to be patient, and if you fail, or you dont think ur good enough... it's ok. Just find a way to prove to yourself that you are good enough. Also it helps to have important contacts that can inspire you and help you on your way.

Is there anything else that I missed that you might want to mention in the interview that I might have missed?

Just stay string and believe in yourself. That's the key to sucsess. And be kind to everyone you meet, you never know what they have or is dealing with.

Who is Kirsten and what makes you the person you are today?

A pint-sized singer-songwriter and educator (quite the contrary from the surname) from a country of SouthEast Asia called Malaysia. The fascinating journey of the endless pursuit of self discovery, improvement, growth, education and happiness makes yours truly present and ready for the world.

What are your hobbies, what do you like to do for fun?

Apart from music, I’m a huge fan of board games and snuggling up with a good read is always nice. I love food! Absolutely enjoy watching and reading up on the culture of food all around the world and trying them out in my own kitchen. Next up on my hobby list is to try painting!

You are a singer, you have performed on Hoops got talent, how was that experience for you, and would you do it again?

Correct, I’m also a multi-instrumentalist, vocal coach and music educator for the past 10 years. Performing on Hoop’s Meetme Got Talent Season 6 show was an interesting experience, playing for a different demographic, and wider audience around the globe. All thanks to Ian Steven for pulling me into this. It was very humbling to see how music truly transcends all cultures. Would I do it again? I guess you will have to wait and see.

You live in Malaysia, most people who stream are from the United States, has this been a challenge for you? What have been your obstacles with streaming?

There is actually a big community of streamers here in SouthEast Asia, spread out on differing streaming platforms. But it has been really refreshing to reach out to people from the other parts of the world. I guess the biggest obstacle would be the time difference and consistency.

I know that you are new, what kind of themes are your streams, what attracts your viewers to your stream?

Music. I play and sing to entertain my viewers. Coupled with the occasional open music discussions to engage and encourage people to share and talk about music they love.

What are your goals for streaming? What do you hope to accomplish?

All and all, the goal is to be able to meet new people of different walks of life, especially the people of the music and art scene. A big shout out to these lovely people I met in my short time of streaming, Ian Steven, RemyK, Kenny Lee Young and Steve T.

Where have you sang before, do you perform at shows or venues?

Over the past 6 years, I have been touring around Malaysia in established events/venues such as the Butterworth Fringe Festival, No Black Tie, Medini Live, Publika’s MAP FEST, MPO Unplugged (Dewan Filharmonik at Kuala Lumpur City Centre) and the Taipa Houses-Museum in Macau. I’m also a huge advocate for the local independent music scene, please do check out Merdekarya and Open Mic Malaysia, the 2 establishments in Malaysia that gave birth to my music career.

Who are your influences when it comes to music, and who are your influences when it comes to your life?

I’m quite the mismash, mixpot of different genres. I grew up being classically trained on the piano, dad played a lot of classic hard rock stuff, with a nice mix of folk numbers and a lot of standard jazz and brazilian jazz tunes from the 40s-60s. Just to name a few artists and bands to describe my world: Pat Benatar, Tracy Chapman, Steely Dan, Metallica, ACDC, The Beatles, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Hall and Oates, Michael Jackson, Bishop Briggs, Jack Garratt, Tom Jobim, Beth Hart, Billie Eilish and many more.

In life, my parents are my biggest influence and support system. My younger brother, who is also a budding musician, and my friends. These are the people that I love with all my heart and are the ones that keep me going and doing what I do.

What kind of music do you perform, and what platforms do you stream on?

Urban folk jazz. An eclectic mix of pop, folk, jazz with an occasional sprinkle of rock. I am not one for labels and would rather have my listeners to gauge and describe my music themselves. I currently have original music out on all major music streaming platforms such as, Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, Soundcloud etc.

If someone would like to start singing, what kind of tips would you give them if they feel like giving up?

Don’t give up. If you feel strongly about wanting to give it a go, do it. Resources are very much readily available at your fingertips if you only take the trouble to reach out and do your research. Go out there, talk to people, take lessons, attend workshops, put up your work, collaborate with others and in turn show support to others in the scene too. There is so much beauty in this form of art, so much to give ourselves as well as to give back to others. Music will never die. Music is what keeps a lot of us alive. So yes, there are a lot of prospects in this field despite its challenges. So bring it on. Much love to all music lovers! You’re not alone.

Is there anything you would like to mention to people that might be struggling singing?

The most common issue that people face when singing, is not being in tune. This also happens to the best in the business. But this can be developed via the development of being able to discern and compare sounds followed by the practice of the different delivery methods to execute them. Thus, listening is a big part of this process and progress. Do not be shy to ask for help and most importantly, enjoy the journey.

Name: Meet Me - OhhhDarling

Unique ID: XCL72BJ1

Website URL:

Who is OooohDarling and what makes you the person you are today?

Hello! My name is Krissie and I'm 33 years old, I'm a preschool teacher by day, piano teacher by night. My username was snatched right out of my favorite Beatles song called Oh Darling. I love people! I love connecting with them and I work very hard to create an emotional atmosphere of acceptance and positivity. A lifetime of misunderstanding, and being misunderstood, has driven me to proactively diminish these misunderstandings and give everyone a chance to feel heard and understood.

Fun fact: I've had profound hearing loss since early childhood, have had my ears operated on four times, and was not expected to make it to elementary school with my hearing. This still fascinates and haunts me to this day, so my ears are weak, but they are well-trained....so I'm doing as much music as I can before they go completely!

You love music, how did you get into playing music, what instruments can you play and what is your favorite instrument to play?

My folks started us in music lessons when I was 7 and I started on piano. At age 11 I started the flute in middle school band and going from the combinations of 10 fingers/88 keys/3 pedals/2 hands and their countless combinations of playing piano made learning the flute a breeze. I joined jazz band when I was 14 to play piano, but got there too late on the first day to sit at the piano, so I learned the trombone. My senior year I started playing the oboe and the euphonium to get ready for my degree in music.

I went to school for music education and was never interested in singing. During this time I learned steel drums (I don't have any though, so I couldn't play them if you asked me today) and most of the other band and orchestral instruments. After I graduated, I tried the ukulele out, started exploring my voice, and haven't looked back.

My favorite instrument depends on context! Overall, piano is my love. It's got so much versatility and so much power. I love playing classical music on the piano and flute, but I love just jamming out on oldies with my ukulele!

You go live, what are your streams like? What do you do to attract your viewers?

My streams are always musical! I'm just kind of a nervous person who can't imagine just staring at the phone while I stream. I definitely read everyone's comments and reply to all of them! I even listen to the song requests I get and try to learn them for people. If I stream early in the day, it's usually old-timey classical piano.

But later in the day, definitely pop and oldies and stuff and singing! When there's whiskey involved I usually get loud and destroy that piano! I love battling my musical friends to hear what they are working on and show them off to my viewers!

Who are your musical influences, and who are your life influences?

My musical influences are Amy Winehouse, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, John Mayer, CCR, crap, now I'm just listing my favorites. My life influences are my older brothers. They are so wildly different from each other in such different ways but I truly do admire them and how much they have shaped me growing up.

Do you have any music recorded where we could hear you play?

I haven't produced any music yet, I just go live on facebook with my open mic group and then post those to youtube later. If you do check out my youtube (username eissirk), please ignore the videos of me reading kids books-those are for my preschoolers who have been home for a few months and this is part of my outreach to them so if there's a book emoji in the video title just scroll on! I also have a little facebook page for my music called Krissie Loves to Sing.

What are your hobbies besides streaming and music, what else do you like to do for fun?

Does arguing politics count? Just kidding. I'm a bit introverted most of the time, and music is a great venue for me to indulge that. I love music in so many capacities, I love the puzzle of learning a new instrument; I love studying and learning a new piece; I've been getting into writing and arranging; but what I love most about music is teaching it. I love sharing what I love with people, and helping them use songs they know to teach them music. It's the coolest thing in the world to me. If I go out, I go to karaoke or dive bars with jukeboxes. I like improv comedy and standup comedy as well. I love and appreciate all things art and love finding artists in the stream world so I can watch and observe their process!

Do you have any tips for any musicians who are starting out that might be struggling with learning the instrument that they are trying to learn?

I HAVE SO MANY TIPS! I'm gonna list a few here, but then ask that ANYBODY struggling with an instrument HIT ME UP! I'm just sofa king excited about music that I want to help everyone succeed. So here's my generic thoughts that should help everyone! These are things I do, and I make my students do them too.

1. Practice a little every day, rather than a long time once a week.

2. Record yourself, listen to it, and critique yourself! You don't have to share these with

3. anyone, but a big part of music is that feedback loop. You need to study your practice to hear what went well, what you want to do again, or what didn't go well, or what you just need to practice.

4. ASK FOR HELP! Reach out to other musicians and chat, because we have ALL been through what you're going through! Don't try to be an island....yet.

5. Balance your technical work (fingerings/chords/reading music/etc) with fun. Pick something you want to learn and you'll be more motivated to practice it.

You play music, how did you get started, and who are your influences in music?

“I started playing the guitar at the age of 10. It was a musical instrument that my mom wanted to me to learn at that time because she used to be able to play it too. I only started singing at age 16 when I signed up for my school’s talent showcase. Furthermore, my biggest influence in music would be my guitar teacher. He thought me to see music from all aspects of art and life. He never discriminates any genre and he always teach me to understand it. He is a rare gem when it comes to finding a great music mentor.”

Who are your favorite musicians?

“I do sing a lot of pop music. Therefore, my music idols will be Michael Jackson and Lee Hom Wang. Both of legends in the industry as they always try to be ahead of their time when it comes to creating new waves of music.”

What instruments do you play, and do you speak multiple languages?

“The instruments that I can play very well are the guitar and the ukulele. I can also beatbox if you can consider my mouth as an instrument. Hahaha…Besides that I can speak multiple languages for example, English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia, Hokkien and Cantonese. I do understand a little bit of Tagalog and Japanese as well too.”

What are your goals in life, what does the future hold for you?

“My goals are very simple. The ultimate goal that I’ve set for myself is to actually inspire someone in my field of expertise. As a film and video producer and upcoming director I wish to inspire the younger generation to be more exposed into this industry the correct way. I’m just lucky to have found mentors in my life to actually teach and guide me to do better and I wish to do the same too.”

You were on Hoops Got Talent, on the Meet Me app, how was that experience for you, and would you do it again?

“Hoops’sMeetMe’s Got Talent show was an amazing experience. I’ve gathered more connections as made a few more friends along the way. Initially, I joined the auditions just to show support for a fellow judge on season 6 which is Remy K. Remy is one of the first few people that I’ve met on stream and ever since then we are brothers. However, I will consider again to join the upcoming seasons when the timing is right.”

Do you have any tips for anyone wanting to get into music?

“Passion, Patience and Confidence is what you will need to achieve any goal in life. So, going into music is the same thing too. Keep grinding with passion, have the patience to practice and get better at what you do and be confident to actually execute them when the time comes.”

You perform your own original songs, how long does it take to write the songs, what prompts you to write them?

“I do write a lot of original music. If it’s not for me, it’s for others. I do a lot of my song writing based of anything in life. For example, “Till the day we meet”the song that I sang on Chris Casper’s Suited Up was inspired by a movie named “Collateral Beauty.” So, I still have this mindset that my music mentor gave me which is to see music in all aspects of art and life.”

Have you ever considered going on a television show such as The Voice, or American Idol?

“No, I never. I’ve auditioned for Asia’s Got Talent once when I was in a duo band called Impromp2. We didn’t make it passed auditions because we didn’t wow the producer I guess. Hahaha…But anyway, as a producer myself in the entertainment industry I can see the amount of effort being put into making a great show for the audience. So, I do respect people who actually curate shows like these.”

What are your streams like on Meet Me, do you have any themes to them?

“My stream mainly consist of me singing and entertaining people. I do however have a couple of shows that I’ve recently setup. First show is called Warframe Wednesday, where I stream myself playing Warframe and the second show is Wow Me Friday, a show where anybody can request my box and showcase their talent. If they manage to “Wow” me, the will get a surprised gift from me. Besides, I will also battle some talented people on stream to actually wow the viewers. That way people will get a taste on how talented people can be on the app.”

Is there anything else I might have missed that you would like to add?

“So, in case you are wondering why I have a vampire clan, that’s because there was a time where I did a 36 hours stream. Hahaha… So, don’t be afraid we won’t bite. On top of that, I will also like to say that it was a life changing experience to actually start streaming on this app. I’ve gained so much as a person and I’ve always gain so much more support in real life and I hope to give back to the community. Like my moto in life, “Make happy, be happy, people!”

Cheta Cheez Interview - 07/06/2020

Who is Cheta Cheez, and what makes you the person you are today?

My real name is Chet. I am a Hip Hop Recording Artist and Songwriter. I grew up in The Bronx, NY. I got my nickname back in elementary school because my name is “Chet”. That’s where “Cheta Cheez” comes from. My middle name starts with an A, so on my ID it always said Chet,A. I figured, hey, since that’s already my name, why not make my artist name “Cheta Cheez”?

You were in a competition on Meet Me called Meet Me's Got Talent, you were also a winner, how was that competition for you, what kind of experience did you have and would you do it again?

Yes, I was in MeetMe’s Got Talent: Season 6, hosted by Hoops. I was made aware of the competition by another streamer, and then I auditioned in the show among over 20 other performers, made up of singers and rappers. I made the audition, and ended up making it all the way down to the final 3 performers, ultimately winning the show. It was a great experience. I made lots of friends and fans, and got to compete against many other talented artists.

Who are your influences as musicians who inspired you to start rapping?

Growing up, I’ve always listened to music. Ever since I was a kid, music was always something that I was inspired by. From 80s dance music, classic rock and oldies, to modern pop, rock, and Hip Hop, music has always influenced me. I would say that there are many artists who have inspired me, and one of my favorite musicians of all time is Michael Jackson.

Who are your influences in real life?

I would have to give that credit to my father. I’ve always been one who has a student mentality and learns from everyone and everything around him. However, my father has shown me the importance in being respectful and compassionate since I was very young. Being a good person and always doing the right thing has kept me following the right path in life, and that alone I believe is what makes me the person that I am today. I strive to do better and be better every single day, and I have to thank my father for always pushing that kind of perspective and understanding on me.

What are some of your goals in life?

As a musician, I’d like to reach a level where I speak to a large group of people, ultimately helping people and positively influencing them. I believe in doing good and helping others overcome their obstacles in life. Even though a lot of my music comes from pain

What is your goal on the Meet Me App?

I started out using the app because I wanted to connect with people while being stuck at home due to COVID-19. At first, it took some getting used to, but I ended up making friends and also using it as a platform to share my music with people around the world. My goal on MeetMe is to make friends and gain a following so that more people become aware of the music that I make.

If someone wanted to start rapping, and is struggling, what kind of tips would you give them?

I hear that question a lot, and I’ve taken time to help other artists many times. Typically, people that you find who are either new to rap or need a lot of improvement, tend to be at different points of their journey within the craft. For example, someone may be good at freestyling, but not have enough experience writing songs. On the other hand, you may find someone who can write songs, but can’t freestyle too well. The focus may also be something as simple as the artist may need to just work on his/her delivery, flow, sentence structure, or lyrical content. It all depends on the person and where they’re at. My advice to everyone is to just keep practicing. Find what you believe needs to be worked on, and keep doing it, over and over again. I’ve been rapping for 20 years, and the trick to getting better at what you do is to just keep doing it until you master your craft. Keep writing, keep freestyling, keep performing, keep recording. Do it all and never stop.

Who is your favorite rapper?

My two favorite rappers are Eminem and 2 Pac. I have always been inspired by their lyrical content and passion. Both of these two men have achieved a level of status and skill that to most is considered legendary. Eminem is a grand master of his craft, no one can touch him, lyrically. He has pushed himself beyond most other artists and has a lot to show for it. 2 Pac wasn’t only an incredible artist. Like Eminem, he was an incredible rapper and passionate, driven individual who believed in more than just music. 2 Pac embodied the soul of Hip Hop. People embrace him because of who he is, not just what kind of music he makes. He is the image of the streets, the image of black culture and hardships black communities have endured. He is the image of Hip Hop. Both of these artists are incredible and have lived fascinating lives. There are, in fact, historical pieces of the Hip Hop legacy.

Is there anything else you would like to mention that I might have missed?

I have recently dropped my latest album. It’s called ‘Enemy’. It has 18 total tracks on it and it can be found on YouTube, SoundCloud, Instagram, and Facebook by searching “Cheta Cheez”. I also have a website where you can not only hear my new album for free, but you can hear my old music, new exclusives that can’t be found anywhere else online, and you can also purchase all kinds of Cheta Cheez merchandise, such as hats, hoodies, t shirts, accessories, etc. I will be working music as the weeks go by, and I am planning on dropping another album this year.

Thank you once again for taking the time to fill out the interview questions!

Thank you! It has been a pleasure, and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to get to know me and help me spread the word about who I am and what I do.
